Content Manager: Web and Social Media

About Delaware Prosperity Partnership:

Created in 2017, Delaware Prosperity Partnership (DPP) leads the state of Delaware's economic development efforts to attract, grow and retain businesses; to build a stronger entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem; and to support private employers in identifying, recruiting and developing talent in the state of Delaware.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Write and post content for social media channels and website.
  • Integrate web and social media into overall annual marketing strategy
  • Update approved content for web and other social media channels.
  • Support the planning and implementation of press events conferences and DPP -sponsored events on an as-need basis.
  • Monitor web traffic and social media daily; providing reports to department director.
  • Monitor press on topics relevant to DPP and inform management of any relevant issues.
  • Prepare press materials and relevant support materials for press events including backgrounders and FAQ's.
  • Be available to attend events - day, evenings and weekends - on an assigned basis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in journalism, communications, public relations or related writing-intensive field.
  • Preferably 5-to-7 years of experience writing and editing specifically for the web and coordinating, editing and publishing the work of other content contributors; or equivalent combination of education and experience such as journalism, communications or related field.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Proven knowledge of social media platforms.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex issues into simple yet meaningful writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a content management system.
  • Must have active driver's license and a vehicle to travel for performance of assigned duties.
