HR Coordinator - Ministry of Caring

Job Summary

The Ministry of Caring is a non-profit agency with an array of services to help the homeless and poor in Wilmington, DE. Our mission is that the poor should never be treated poorly, but with dignity and respect. We are currently seeking a Human Resources Assistant. This is an entry-level position, providing support to the Human Resources Director.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • The Human Resources Assistant provides support with:
  • Scheduling interviews
  • Maintaining current job postings on multiple sites
  • Reviewing incoming resumes
  • Pre-employment process
  • Onboarding
  • Performance review notifications
  • Benefit eligibility notifications and enrollments
  • Maintaining employee records and files
  • Inputting timely updates to HRIS (Human Resources Information System)
  • Worker's compensation reporting and record-keeping
  • Responding to individual and group volunteer requests
  • Other projects and tasks as needed

Qualifications and Skills

The Human Resources Assistant position is entry-level. While prior HR experience is helpful, it is not required. Key qualifications and skills include:

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Advanced computer proficiency (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Detail orientation with excellent accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed
  • High regard for confidentiality
  • Aptitude for learning and assimilating new tasks quickly
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Degree in business or human services field desired but not required
  • Eagerness to learn about the Human Resources function
  • Prior Human Resources experience (1 year+)
  • Desire to contribute to the mission of the Ministry of Caring
