Swanson Center for Nutrition Invites Applications for Inaugural Food Bank Evaluation and Grant Program

  • April 26, 2019

Established in 1973, the Gretchen Swanson Center for Nutrition in Omaha, Nebraska, is dedicated to research and evaluation in the areas of obesity prevention, local food systems, and food insecurity.

To that end, the center is currently inviting applications for its inaugural Rooted in Evidence Grant program, which has been designed to provide food banks and their partners with opportunities to enhance measurement and evaluation activities related to their services. The program also will provide funding in support of innovative programming with the potential to improve the health and dietary quality of emergency food recipients. Approaches can include existing or new programming that encompasses various settings and sites, components or levels of the emergency food system, and target populations.
