2019 Core Research Program Funding Opportunities, American Diabetes Association

Image result for american diabetes associationThe American Diabetes Association's Core Research Program funds research with novel and innovative hypotheses in any area relevant to the etiology or pathophysiology of diabetes.

The 2019 Call for Applications is open. The application deadline is July 15, 2019 at 5:00pm ET for July 1, 2020 funding.

To maximize our support of the grant applications received in the last cycle and to better align funding decisions with the organizational budget cycle, the American Diabetes Association is delaying the 2019 Core Research Program call for applications. The 2019 call for applications has a submission deadline of July 15, 2019 for funding start date of July 1, 2020.

To that end, the ADA is inviting applications for its Training Awards, including a Postdoctoral Fellowship (PDF) and Minority Postdoctoral Fellowship (PMF).

Through the PDF program, a salary stipend of up to $55,581 per year for up to three years, plus $5,000 annually for training and a $5,000 fringe benefit allowance, will be awarded to postdoctoral researchers in support of high-quality training in an environment conducive to beginning a career in diabetes research.

Through the PMF program, a salary stipend of up to $55,581 per year for up to three years, plus $5,000 annually for training and a $5,000 fringe benefit allowance, will be awarded to minority postdoctoral researchers in support of high-quality training in an environment conducive to beginning a career in diabetes research. Eligible racial/ethnic groups include African American or black, Latinx, American Indian/Alaskan Native, and Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander.

Eligible applicants must hold a PhD, MD, PharmD, DO, DPM, or the equivalent, have a confirmed postdoctoral position by the award start date, and may not have more than ten years’ research experience beyond conferral of their doctoral degree.
