Community Investment Fund Focus: Christiana Care Health System embraces our core values of Excellence and Love, underscored by The Christiana Care Way - to serve neighbor as expert, caring partners in their health.

Community Health in the Office of Health Equity supports new and innovative ideas and efforts to positively impact the health of the communities Christiana Care Health System serve, address health disparities, and help everyone in our communities achieve their optimal health. Christiana Care Health System believes that all members of the community should have access to high-quality health services, social supports and education.

At the core of this work is a commitment to improving health outcomes, building and advancing health equity, and supporting the sustainability of healthier communities. As such, the Office of Health Equity partners with community organizations to support projects with up to $100,000 in funding. These projects address social, behavioral and environmental factors which impact health. The goal is to impact, and decrease, disparities, with a targeted focus on the social determinents of health.

While not a definitive list, Christiana Care Health System typically does not fund requests for the following:

• Capital requests (e.g., the purchase or renovation of buildings, vehicles or technology)
• Endowments (e.g., establishing an investment fund or a permanent, self-sustaining source of funding)
• Events (e.g., fundraisers, conferences, workshops)

Eligibility:

Community Health in the Office of Health Equity partners with and provides funding support for organizations primarily supporting communities in New Castle County, Delaware.To be eligible for support, organizations or institutions, as well as the purpose of the proposed project, must qualify under regulations of the United States Internal Revenue Service. As a result, we are not able to provide funding directly to individuals.
