Image result for charles lafitte foundation logoThe Charles Lafitte Foundation provides support to nonprofit organizations throughout the country for innovative and effective approaches to helping people help themselves and others around them in order to achieve healthy, satisfying, and enriched lives.

The Foundation supports the following program areas:

Education
The Foundation works to improve education in preschool through college and seeks to improve teaching results by supporting computer-based and technological education, promoting leadership skills, and offering programs about the arts. In addition, support is provided for opportunities for ongoing education, such as research projects and conferences.

The Foundation supports programs that:

  • aid students with learning disabilities;
  • target at-risk populations and integrate all learners;
  • provide equal access;
  • offer quality programming using innovative methods;
  • apply data-driven approaches; and,
  • educate the whole child.

Children's Advocacy
The Foundation works to help children reach their fullest potential through the provision of sufficient education, healthcare, shelter, and care. Support is provided to programs that target issues such as child abuse, foster housing, literacy, after-school programs, and hunger projects.

Medical Research and Initiatives
The Foundation seeks to spawn breakthroughs in the understanding of wellness to proactively counter disease and suffering. The Foundation supports and encourages health research and education, leading to better healthcare, disease prevention, and healthier lifestyles and habits.

The Arts
The Foundation believes that exposure to the arts is vital to fostering and sustaining healthy communities.

The Foundation's goals for arts funding include:

  • cultivating new talent;
  • supporting established artists;
  • providing educational programs that encourage children's creativity;
  • furthering equal access to the arts; and,
  • establishing therapeutic arts programs.

The Foundation prefers underwriting specific projects with distinct goals and targets grants that will have a notable impact and make a material difference.

The Foundation does not support political organizations or religious-based programs.
