Puffin Foundation

  • December 15, 2019

The Puffin Foundation seeks to open the doors of artistic expression by providing grants to artists and art organizations that are often excluded from mainstream opportunities due to their race, gender, or social philosophy.

The Foundation gives special consideration to communities and school districts that are under-served by the arts. Additionally, the Foundation focuses on new and emerging artists. Established artists either will not be or are less likely to be considered.

Supported disciplines vary from year to year. For the 2020 cycle support is offered only in the following fields:

  • music;
  • photography; and,
  • theater.

The Foundation does not have the means to fund large film/documentary proposals, grants for travel, continuing education, or for the writing or publication of books.

Note: The ALBA/Puffin Award for Human Rights Activism recognizes individuals or organizations whose work has had a positive impact on the advancement and defense of human rights. Visit the Foundation's website for details.
