RSF Social Finance: RSF Seed Fund

 Social Finance (RSF) is a pioneering nonprofit financial services organization dedicated to transforming the way the world works with money.

RSF provides funding to social enterprises in North America that are working to create long-term social and ecological benefit.

The RSF Seed Fund provides support to organizations offering innovative solutions to furthering the field of social finance, or addressing issues in the areas of:

• food and agriculture;
• education and the arts; and,
• ecological stewardship.

Support is provided for new initiatives, defined as organizations in the first two years of operation, or new projects or programs from existing organizations (not including projects that are expanding in geographic scope only).

Grants are not awarded to/for:

• individuals;
• foreign organizations;
• for-profit companies;
• multi-ear operating needs;
• ongoing capital, or capital projects or campaigns;
• scholarships;
• travel, or attendance at conferences or workshops; or,
• international work.

Note: RSF also offers the Social Enterprise Lending program, which provides mortgage loans, construction loans, equipment loans, and working capital lines of credit to qualified for-profits and non-profit organizations. Loans range from $200,000 to $5 million.
