The Saxena Family Foundation's mission is to advance inventive and effective ways of empowering women.
The Foundation's primary geographic focus is on communities where members of the Saxena family have deep roots: the United States and India.
The Foundation's interests include:
- science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education in the U.S.; and,
- the empowerment of women, including girls and young women.
The Foundation focuses on empowerment programs, including economic, educational, and political empowerment of women through literacy programs and job and life skills training. Some support is also considered for programs for senior citizens.
The Foundation prefers to fund specific projects.
Grants are typically not provided to/for:
- individuals;
- for-profit organizations;
- operating expenses or capital campaigns;
- capital improvements;
- existing deficits;
- lobbying; or,
- sectarian, religious, or fraternal purposes.
