  • June 30, 2020

The mission of the Gertrude E. Skelly Charitable Foundation is to provide educational opportunities, primarily at colleges and universities, and needed medical care for those who cannot afford it. All grants must affect multiple individuals and meet an educational, medical, or emergency need.

The Foundation's specific areas of interest include:

  • higher education and medical scholarship programs (nursing is of particular interest);
  • museums and other institutions with broad-based educational purposes;
  • research fellowship and internship programs (considered on occasion); and,
  • organizations that provide emergency care during natural disasters.

Types of support include project support and matching and challenge grants.

Support is rarely provided for endowments or capital projects.
