The International Literacy Association works to empower educators, inspire students, and provide leaders with the resources they need to make literacy accessible for all.
To advance this mission, ILA is inviting applications for the ILA Nila Banton Smith Teacher as Researcher Grant program. Through the program, a single grant of $5,000 will be awarded to a teacher who conducts research inquiries in the classroom and shows outstanding leadership in translating theory and current research into practice in developing content area literacy.
To be eligible, applicants must be a current member of the International Literacy Association and a practicing pre-K–12 teacher with full time or permanent half-time teaching responsibilities (including librarians, Title I teachers, classroom teachers, literacy coaches, and resource teachers). Classroom teachers will be given preference.
