The mission of Morris Animal Foundation is to bridge science and available resources to advance the health of animals. To advance its mission, the foundation funds humane, hypothesis-driven animal health research projects with high scientific merit and the potential for significant impact on animal health.
To that end, the foundation currently is inviting applications for its First Award grants program. Through the program, grants of up to $50,000 a year for up to two years (plus 8 percent for indirect costs if charged by applicant’s institution) will be awarded in support of new faculty looking to establish a successful animal health research program. Projects must advance the science of canine, feline, equine, llama, alpaca, or wildlife health. (Projects oriented toward human health and agricultural animal health do not fall within Morris Animal Foundation's mission and will not be accepted.)
To be eligible, applicants must have a DVM and/or PhD as well as a full-time, permanent position in a university, accredited zoo, or conservation organization.
