Image result for rodney street tennis delawareFounded in 1978, Rodney Street Tennis & Tutoring Association (“RodneyStreet”) has provided a unique combination of tennis and educational services to children and youth residing in and around the city of Wilmington, Delaware. By using the sport of tennis as a hook, RodneyStreet’s programs work to teach participants the importance of leadership, teamwork, education, and healthy lifestyles. RodneyStreet is looking for a strong leader to maintain and strengthen its existing programs, while working to ensure a sustainable financial future for the organization.

Position Summary: The Executive Director of RodneyStreet is responsible for the management and execution of RodneyStreet’s mission, including programming goals and objectives, financials, fundraising, and personnel management. This position requires strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize as well as multi-task. This position may require weekend and evening hours as needed to execute the programs effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Work closely with board of directors to establish strategic direction; provide documents and information to board as needed for oversight

· Direct development efforts, working closely with the board and staff to execute all aspects of fundraising, including grants,events, and individual/corporate donations; cultivate relationships with current and potential donors

· Provide leadership and implementation of strategic direction; develop and implement program strategy to meet mission and strategic goals

· Ensure strong financial oversight, including daily transactions, allocations, payroll, monthly reconciliations and reporting, and timely acknowledgment of gifts

· Management of all RodneyStreet staff, volunteers and contractors, including annual performance reviews

· Manage, cultivate, and expand upon important community relationships (e.g., Jewish Community Center, program partners, United States Tennis Association and its affiliated organization)

· Establish and implement organizational policies and procedures

· Serve as a spokesperson for RodneyStreet in the community

· Oversee the creation and distribution of marketing materials, including the website and solicitation materials

· Ensure strong relationships with families and students, including coordination of community events

· Work with students as needed for program success

· Other duties as required

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s degree and prior youth program management experience

· Passion for sports-based youth development (teaching and/or tennis experience preferred)

· Passion for working with and on behalf of young people, especially those from under-served communities

· Financial acumen, including experience managing budgets and financial reports

· Ability to network and form relationships within the Wilmington, Delaware community

· Staff and volunteer management skills, including hiring, daily management, and performance evaluation

· Program evaluation, data collection, analysis and presentation skills

· Experience writing policies and procedures

· Experience fundraising through grants, events, and individual/corporate solicitations

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills

· Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook) required

· Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task

· Disciplined work ethic with the ability to organize and prioritize work

· Ability in a high-pace environment with many stakeholders (e.g. staff, board, partners, families, youth)
