As a follow-up from our previous program "Recent Trends in Education" from November 2019, this will be a discussion among peers working to discuss shared learning, best practices, and opportunities for collaboration.
This discussion will delve into the recently released report from Grantmakers for Education - A View from the Classroom: What Teachers can tell Philanthropy about the needs of Schools. When viewed in aggregate, teacher requests reveal equity issues and a shortage of both nonacademic and academic basic needs. When teacher requests are compared to philanthropy's funding priorities from GFE's Trends in Education Philanthropy: Benchmarking 2018-19, the report shows some alignment, but also offers an important opportunity for insight.
