Image result for Kessler foundation logoThe Kessler Foundation advances positive change for people with disabilities through groundbreaking rehabilitation and disability employment research and funding innovative initiatives.

In support of that mission, the foundation is inviting applications to its Signature Employment Grants program.

Through the program, grants of up to $250,000 per year for up to two years will be awarded in support of pilot initiatives or demonstration projects involving models designed to increase employment for individuals with disabilities. The foundation has a special interest in projects that address the intersection of race, class, gender, disability, and poverty within the framework of helping individuals with disabilities obtain employment or re-enter the job market following injury. Partnerships across sectors, such as public/private collaborations with economic development organizations, banks, and municipalities, are of particular interest.

Grant concept papers are due February 14. Upon review, selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal by June 12.

To be eligible, applicant organizations must be tax-exempt under the Internal Revenue Code; this includes nonprofit agencies, public or private schools, and public institutions such as universities and governmental entities (state, local, federal) based in the United States or any of its territories. Applicant organizations also must have an operating budget of more than $3 million.
