Delaware Emergency Food and Shelter Program CARES Funding Opportunity

The Delaware Emergency Food and Shelter Program Board announces that applications are being accepted from Faith-Based organizations, nonprofits and government agencies. The funding is provided to supplement and expand on-going efforts to provide shelter, food and supportive services. This is a competitive grant process and you can find the application here. Applicants must have an on-going crisis assistance program that is operational no less 5 days a week.

Eligible Service Expenditures:

• Food Service: congregate meals, food purchases, or home delivery meals
• Shelter Services: mass shelters, hotel/motel, or rent/mortgage
• Supplies and Equipment Purchases: cleaning supplies for shelters, feeding sites
• Small Equipment: Purchases up to $300 per item (e.g. microwave)
• Utility Services for Clients: gas, water, or electric
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) expenditures (limited to 10% of grantee's award); EFSP Funds cannot be used to purchase PPE for general distribution to the public or for use outsides grantee's mission areas.
