In 2021 this funding will be provided through the ACT on Health Equity Community Solutions Challenge and applications will be accepted June 1- July 16, 2021.

Overview

AstraZeneca recognizes health starts in our homes, schools and communities. The ACT on Health Equity Community Solutions Challenge is designed to support non-profit organizations positively impacting the health of underserved populations through regional and local community-based programming.

Applications will be accepted in two categories

  • Community health and wellbeing : community-based programs to improve conditions that affect health and well-being (e.g., housing, education, environmental/ neighborhood safety, nutrition, access to care) and; programs that prioritize the social, cultural, and linguistic needs of underserved patients, caregivers and families
  • Youth STEM education and career readiness : programs to build knowledge and skills in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math among K-12 or undergraduate students

Application key dates

Application form will be live here from June 1- July 16, 2021 at 11:59 PM ET.

Selected organizations will be notified and invited to submit a formal application in August 2021.

Winners will be announced publicly in September 2021.

Total contribution

Contributions of up to $25,000 per organization will be provided as a one-time payment to be used over a 12 month period.

Eligibility and selection criteria

The ACT on Health Equity Community Solutions Challenge is open for all eligible 501c organizations in the US delivering regional and local community-based programming. This includes local chapters of national organizations.

Exclusions

The Challenge does NOT fund programs that focus exclusively on the following:

  • Capital investments and unsolicited capital campaigns
  • Fundraisers (e.g. events, galas, etc.)
  • Healthcare provider salaries
  • Media/awareness campaigns
  • Meetings or conferences
  • Professional education and/or training for healthcare professionals
  • Research or clinical trials
  • Programs currently receiving funding from AstraZeneca

AstraZeneca does NOT support:

  • For-profit organizations
  • Individuals
  • Initiatives outside the United States or its territories
  • Journals or advertising
  • Political causes, lobbying, fraternal or social organizations
  • Religious organizations whose activities are not open to the general public
  • Nonprofit organizations that discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, religion, national origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, military service, veteran status or disability.
