Sussex County Health Coalition and DSAMH is pleased to announce funding for mental health awareness mini grants for organizations in Sussex County.

The Mental Health Awareness Training (MHAT: DelCARES) program aims to promote mental health awareness through community and workforce development. Considering the goal of promoting mental health awareness based on community development initiatives, DSAMH established a contract agreement with the Sussex County Health Coalition (SSHC) to award 10 to 15 Community Mini-Grants. These grants have two goals.

First, to educate the community of mental health, including signs and symptoms of mental disorders and evidence-based coping strategies. Second, to inform the community about how to refer to mental health resources. The Mini-Grants will therefore allow Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) in Delaware to design and implement community-based mental health awareness initiatives statewide.
