Development and Communications Coordinator

Delaware Prosperity Partnership is looking for a development communications coordinator to support its funder (investor) relations needs as well as various communications needs for web, social media and print. Created in 2017, Delaware Prosperity Partnership (DPP) leads the state of Delaware's economic development efforts to attract, grow and retain businesses; to build a stronger entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem; and to support private employers in identifying, recruiting and developing talent in the state of Delaware.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the collection, storing, and updating of institutional funder data
  • Ensure investor communications are properly recorded in appropriate database - may include a CRM database
  • Ensure investor contact information and communication preferences are up-to-date
  • Manage mailing lists and ensure contacts are properly classified
  • Periodically review and update data to ensure accuracy and ease of access
  • Create and produce reports on an as-need basis
  • Ensure individual pledge updates and thank yous are reviewed and promptly distributed
  • DRAFT releases, twitter and LinkedIn posts for review by Director.
  • Draft features on an as-need basis
  • Support media events and other activities that advance DPP's mission

Core Competencies and Skills Requirements:

  • Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills;
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Detail and deadline oriented
  • Working knowledge of online foundation grant applications
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel
  • Knowledge and successful use of social media tools i.e. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc;
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity that honors difference of race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ability and socio-economic circumstances
  • Values teamwork and collaboration while being able to problem-solve independently;
  • Must be able to work off hours and weekends as needed.
  • Must have active driver's license and car.
  • College degree preferred.
  • 5-to-7 years' experience in fundraising and communications fields for cause-driven nonprofit.
