Kettering Family Foundation

The Kettering Family Foundation supports a broad range of nonprofit organizations whose activities are of interest to the Foundation's board of trustees.

The Foundation's primary areas of support include:

• arts, culture, and humanities;
• education;
• the environment;
• medical and health, including research;
• social and human services; and,
• public and society benefit.

Types of support include:

• project support;
• general support;
• equipment;
• building funds;
• land and property acquisition;
• project planning;
• endowments;
• technical assistance; and,
• challenge and matching grants.

Requests are rarely considered for the following, unless the project is trustee-endorsed:

• capital construction;
• foreign-based or foreign-purpose organizations;
• religious organizations for religious purposes;
• individual public elementary or secondary schools or public school districts;
• local chapters of national organizations;
• event sponsorships;
• multi-year grants; or,
• travel expenses.

Grants are not made to/for:

• individuals;
• tickets or advertising;
• efforts to carry on propaganda or otherwise attempt to influence legislation; or
• activities of 509(a)(3) Type III supporting organizations.
