Image result for walton family foundation logoThe Walton Family Foundation has launched the third round of its Innovative Schools Program (ISP) grant opportunity. Through the program, educators and entrepreneurs with ideas for schools that offer transformative opportunities for students are invited to apply for up to $325,000 in funding to turn their ideas into action.

The foundation launched the program in 2017 to identify new, exciting school models and leaders. The program is designed to support schools that look and feel truly different, achieve unprecedented outcomes, serve high-need students, and generate analysis of their successes and challenges that can be shared with other schools.

To date, fourteen schools have received a total of $4 million through the program to open traditional district, public charter, and private schools across the country. Selected from more than two hundred and fifty applicants, the fourteen schools are geographically, demographically, and pedagogically diverse – and offer students and communities everything from a single-class homeschool model to an inclusive environment for neurotypical and special learners. Nearly every ISP grant recipient is a former classroom educator.
